Merge PDF files without uploading them

Combine PDF files into one in your browser. Files never leave your device — free, no sign-up, no watermark, no file-count limit. Works on phone and desktop.

Use LocalDocu to combine multiple PDF files on your device. Select the files above, reorder them in the list, then merge and save the result locally.

How to merge PDFs

  1. Select or drop two or more PDF files on this page.
  2. Reorder the list so files appear in the order you want.
  3. Choose Merge and save or download the merged PDF on your device.

Privacy and offline

  • Document bytes are processed in your browser — not uploaded to LocalDocu for merging.
  • After the app shell is cached, supported merge workflows can continue offline.
  • Browser capabilities (folder picker, save dialogs) vary by browser and device.

On phones and tablets, use Select files (multi-select) and expect results to download. Folder pick and native Save As work best on desktop Chrome or Edge.

Merge PDF questions

Can I merge PDF files without uploading them?

Yes. LocalDocu merges PDFs inside your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. The files are read from your device, combined in memory and saved back to your device — they are never sent to a LocalDocu server.

Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can merge?

There is no fixed file-count limit or daily quota. The practical ceiling is your device’s memory: a laptop handles hundreds of pages comfortably, while very large batches on a phone can run out of memory.

How do I change the order of the merged pages?

Files are merged in list order. Reorder the list before choosing Merge. To rearrange individual pages afterwards, open the merged file in Reorder pages.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Not yet. Encrypted PDFs are rejected so nothing is silently damaged. Remove the password in a tool you trust first, then merge.

Does the merged PDF get a watermark?

No. LocalDocu is free and open source and never adds watermarks, sign-up walls or daily limits.
